What are SkyStar’s hours?

We’re open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., rain or shine! Hours may vary slightly for special events or during severe inclement weather.

How tall is the SkyStar Wheel?

SkyStar stands at just over 150 feet tall, making it the most spectacular observation wheel in San Francisco. From the top, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and the city skyline.

How long is the ride?

Each ride lasts about 9 to 12 minutes, giving you plenty of time to take in the view, snap photos, and enjoy 4 rotations above the Bay.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket booth located on-site.
Buying online is the fastest and easiest way to secure your preferred ride time.

Do I need to reserve a time?

General admission tickets are valid for one year from the  day of purchase, no specific ride time required.


For VIP or group experiences, advance reservations are recommended.

What is the VIP gondola?

The VIP gondola features an extended 20 minute ride, luxury leather seating, bamboo flooring, and a private cabin for up to five guests.

It’s perfect for special occasions like dates, anniversaries, or simply treating yourself to a one-of-a-kind view.

Is the SkyStar Wheel accessible?

Yes! The Skystar Wheel is fully ADA-accessible, and our staff is happy to assist guests with boarding and mobility accommodations.

Is the SkyStar Wheel kid-friendly?

Absolutely! The SkyStar Wheel is great for families and children of all ages. Kids especially love spotting sea lions, sailboats, and San Francisco landmarks from above the Bay.

Can I ride at night?

Definitely. The SkyStar Wheel is open late (10 P.M.), and nighttime rides are extra special: the wheel features over one million LED lights that illuminate the San Francisco skyline.

Where can I park?

Public parking is available in the lot adjacent to the SkyStar Wheel at 2860 Taylor Street, as well as in the Pier 39 Parking Garage (2 Beach Street). The area is also accessible by SF Muni, cable car, and the historic F-Line trolley, which stops right in front of the wheel.

What happens if it rains or gets windy?

The SkyStar Wheel operates rain or shine, but rides may temporarily pause during extreme wind or weather for safety reasons. If your ride is affected, our team will help reschedule your visit.

Can I bring my pet?

Only service animals are permitted aboard the SkyStar Wheel. For the safety of all guests, pets are not allowed on the ride.

Can I host a private event or group outing?

Yes! We offer custom packages for group events, field trips, and corporate gatherings.
